Technische Universit├Ąt Darmstadt, Fachgebiet GRIS (TUD)

Research at Technical University of Darmstadt is being carried out at more than two hundred institutes. Hosted at the TU Darmstadt are several Collaborative Research Units as well as several Graduate Schools, all supported by the German Research Foundation. The scientific infrastructure provided by TU-DA has attracted a considerable number of national and international research institutions to the city of Darmstadt, who on their part collaborate with TU-DA in many projects.

The Interactive Graphics Systems Group (GRIS) at the Computer Science Department of Technical University of Darmstadt was established in 1975 and carries out basic research and teaching in the wider field of Visual Computing. Current projects fall in the area of image processing, geometry processing, 3D model retrieval, visual analytics, and medical image analysis. GRIS contributes to the TU-DA Computer Science curriculum with a substantial number of Graphics-related lectures and seminars.

The GRIS staff involved in HUMBOLDT can draw upon its experience in developing strategies for sales, distribution, public relations and communication. Moreover, it offers good expertise in the area of technology exploitation and the commercialisation of R&D results.
